The Small Business Jobs Act of 2010 (HR 5297) was signed into law on Monday September 27, 2010, which expands loan programs through the Small Business Administration and offers a variety of small business tax breaks and some revenue raisers.
Among the provisions were an increased section 179 expensing, extension of the 50% first year bonus depreciation, new deduction for self-employed individuals’ health insurance costs, five year carry back of general business credits, the removal of cell phones from being listed property, and the increased expensing for start up costs.
